Webinar focuses on covering incarcerated women [US]

Journalists, editors and newsroom-adjacent professionals can participate in a free webinar.

Poynter is offering the webinar “Women and prisons: Covering the impact of incarceration.” This two-part webinar series is designed to deepen participants’ coverage of incarcerated women and women with incarcerated family members.

Participants will receive research and tips on ethical reporting; understand the unique trends and drivers of female incarceration; and learn about the physical, emotional and financial impact of incarceration on women and their families.

Participants who watch both webinars in full are eligible to apply for five reporting grants of US$10,000 each.

The webinar will be held on Oct. 23 and 30.
