CANEX Shorts film competition seeks entries [Africa]

Young filmmakers, 18 to 35, living in Africa and the Diaspora can enter a short film competition.

Afreximbank, through its Creative Africa Nexus program (CANEX), is organizing the third edition of CANEX Shorts. This short film competition will culminate in screenings and an award ceremony at CANEX at IATF2025 taking place in Algiers, Algeria from Sept. 4 to 10.

The categories are best fiction, best documentary and best animation.

Each winner will receive US$2,000, have their film screened at CANEX at IATF2025 and be invited to the event. Flights and accommodation will be covered.

Films created in 2023 or after are eligible for submission.

The deadline is June 30.
